음악 vs. 노래

What is the difference between 음악 and 노래?

음악 means Music:

- A sound, or the study of such sounds, organized in time.

노래 means Song:

- A musical composition with lyrics for voice or voices, performed by singing.

A song is usually referred to as lyrics when it is on paper, but becomes music when sung by an individual. However, any piece of composition, when played on a musical instrument is also music.
